Men’s Soccer moves winning streak to four in a victory over Florida College

TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla (Sept. 14, 2024) - The Point University Men's Soccer continued their road trip in Florida with a Saturday evening match at Florida College where the Skyhawks prevailed for the win with a final score of 1-0.  

The first half opened with a quick offensive start of early shots for the Skyhawks. Although Point would not succeed in scoring, the shots would prove to help bring confidence and optimism through the high intensity of Florida College. Point's defense remained solid as well by holding the Falcons scoreless through the first half. As both teams returned to the field for the second half, the Skyhawks were eager to find an answer to complete the puzzle throughout the match. Gihong Kang made his moment on the road at the right place and at the right time with the game's first goal in the second half. Point looked to remain solid through the final 17 minutes which paid dividends to force a shutout on Florida College and move their winning streak to four. 

In the Box 

Point outshot Florida College with nine total shots with four on goal compared to the Falcons' six shots and three on goal. Gihong Kang's game-winning goal was enough to surge the Skyhawks for the victory. In goal, Simon Niksch added his third shutout of the season.
