Men’s Soccer halted by the Rams in road AAC matchup

COLUMBIA, S.C. (Oct. 19, 2022) -The Point University men's soccer team returned to the pitch in an Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup against Columbia International University Wednesday night and fell 3-1.

The Rams came into the match with a fast start by scoring their first goal within three minutes of the game. Point looked to try to slow CIU down by creating an offense of their own but would not be able to convert on their shot attempts. Lucas Galdino for the Rams gave CIU more of a boost near the half to extend CIU's lead to 2-0. As both teams looked to finish the half, the Skyhawks were held scoreless.

The second half was not a hot start for Point as the yellow card allowed the opportunity for the Rams to take a penalty kick. CIU would convert to push their lead by three points and looked to go for the shutout. The Skyhawks started to find their edge on the offensive end as they took more shots on goal in hopes of avoiding a scoreless second half for them. The plan to keep attacking was successful as Max Paul Busnel scored the one and only goal for Point to end the match with a score of 3-1.
