Point Athletics Welcomes Austin Esch as the Athletic Coordinator

WEST POINT, Ga. (May 9, 2022)- The Point University Athletic Department welcomed a new face to campus as the Skyhawk Community adds Austin Esch as the new Athletic Coordinator at Point University. Esch joined the staff on May 1, 2023, and he will oversee the NAIA Eligibility compliance for all 19 Skyhawk programs and aid in gameday operations. Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics, Jaunelle White, is ecstatic about Esch's contributions to the growing department of Point Athletics.“I am excited about Austin joining the Skyhawk family,” White mentioned. His love for God, experience, and expertise are a welcomed addition to our department.”
Taylor Jennings selected to participate in the Women’s Leaders IAA Program

WEST POINT, Ga. (May 3, 2023)- Taylor Jennings, the Assistant Athletic Director, and Senior Woman Leader, has been selected to participate in the Women’s Leaders IAA Program. The Institute for Advancement, formerly known as the Institute for Administrative Advancement, is the leadership development for women leaders in sports. This program elevates their performance while advancing them within the industry. The Women’s Leaders IAA Program will take place in Kansas City, Missouri, beginning on Sunday, June 25, and ending on Tuesday, June 27th.

Haley Lyner earns AAC Softball Player of the Week

Faculty Appreciation Night showered with success

WEST POINT, Ga. (Jan. 26, 2023) - January 25 was a special night as both basketball teams took the court against Bryan College, with our student-athletes being able to showcase their talents on their home court. This night would also be labeled as Faculty Appreciation Night. Fellow students around Point University voted for some of their professors on campus. They even participated in a tribute video to explain the faculty members' impact on them. Each Faculty member was honored with a certificate from the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and the member with the most votes received a personalized basket. Point had 22 Faculty members who were recognized during halftime of the men’s game.

Aaron Anderson’s historic season earns him All-American honors

WEST POINT, Ga. (Dec. 16, 2022) - The Associated Press and the AFCA announced the All-America teams for the NAIA. Aaron Anderson’s stellar play on the field this season saw him receive honors in the Appalachian Athletic Conference as the Defensive Player of the Year along with First-Team All-Conference. Anderson earned a spot as an AP First Team All-American and AFCA Honorable Mention All-American.
Women’s Soccer to Host Winter ID Camp

WEST POINT, Ga (Dec. 15, 2022) - The Point University Women’s soccer team will host a Preview Day for interest of players on Saturday, February 4, 2023. The cost of the event will be $15, and payments can be made at arrival with either cash, Venmo, PayPal, or a check made out to Point University. Point Teams and Athletes Recognized on NAIA National Awards Day

(Sept. 15, 2022) – The NAIA announced the 2022-23 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete awards on Wednesday as part of National Awards Day for the association, and Point University had 12 teams collect NAIA Scholar team status and 49 student-athletes named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete Award winners.
