WALESKA, Ga. (Sept. 19, 2021) – Three Point University women's soccer team members were able to find the back of the net Sunday morning to lift the Skyhawks to a 4-0 victory over Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Milligan University in Waleska, Georgia.

The matchup between the Skyhawks and Buffs was initially scheduled for Saturday evening inside River Bowl Stadium in West Point, Georgia, but due to inclement weather and unplayable field conditions, the game was moved to Sunday morning and was played on the campus of AAC member Reinhardt University.

Carmen Kager got the Skyhawks on the board in the first half with a goal off an assist from Kelly Carlisle. Carlisle connected with Kager from across the penalty box, where Kager scored to give Point a 1-0 lead with 23:20 left in the half. Thirteen minutes later, Kager would connect with Tamia Jones off a corner kick, and Jones would head the ball into the net help Point lead 2-0 entering the second half.

The Skyhawks would go on to score two more goals in the second half. Jones connected for her second goal of the game, unassisted, in the 61st minute, and in the 77th minute, Savana Schill from near midfield found Carlisle in the box, who was able to score Point's fourth goal of the day.

The Skyhawks outshot Milligan 17-13 and 12-7 in shots on goal. Jones and Kager led Point's shot attempts with five and four shots, respectively. Jones had four shots on goal and Kager had three. Point goalkeeper Erica Burkhardt made six saves.

"It's not often you're asked to give up your home conference game, agree to play at a neutral site, and then attempt to recreate the idea of a home-field, but that's what happened," Head Coach Randy Douglas said. "I'm not just pleased with the flexibility of our players. The match itself was full of a lot of good moments on both the defensive side of the ball in the final third. Erica had a set of back-to-back saves late in the first half that helped us keep the momentum. The entire defense deserves credit for keeping a clean sheet and the decisions we made in the final third to set up nice goals is a good sign. Always a battle with Milligan and the same was for today, despite the scoreline."

With Sunday's win, Point moved to 2-4 overall and 2-1 in AAC play. The Skyhawks will return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Tennessee Wesleyan University for another AAC matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
