Women’s golf finishes fifth in AAC Fall Preview

ADAIRSVILLE, Ga. (Oct. 26, 2021) – The Point University women's golf team competed in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Fall Preview Monday and Tuesday in Adairsville, Georgia, and finished in fifth place out of 10 teams.

The Skyhawks shot rounds of 353 and 342, finishing the tournament with a score of 695. No. 18 Milligan University won the tournament after shooting a 647. No. 13 SCAD Atlanta followed in second place (651), Truett McConnell finished in third (652) and Tennessee Wesleyan finished in fourth (673). The Skyhawks finished ahead of Reinhardt (sixth), Brenau (seventh), St. Andrews (eighth), Columbia (ninth) and Montreat (10th).

Leading Point was freshman Fredricka Zetterblom who finished in seventh place with rounds of 82 and 81 for a tournament score of 163 (17-over). Sophia Fousek followed, finishing tied in 17th with rounds of 86 and 84. Ana Aldana finished in 28th with two rounds of 88, Abigail Evans finished in 42nd with rounds of 97 and 89. Peyton Woody and Alyssa Davis rounded out the Skyhawks in 50th and 60th place, respectively. Davis competed for Point as an individual.

With the conclusion of the fall season, Point will be back in action in the spring of 2022.
