Men’s soccer falls in conference opener

WEST POINT, Ga. (Sep. 10, 2022) – The Point University men's soccer team hosted St. Andrews on Saturday at River Bowl Stadium in their Appalachian Athletic Conference opener and fell 1-0.

St. Andrews connected for the game's only goal on a penalty kick in the 36th minute. The Skyhawks led the game with 13 total shots, eight on frame. The Knights had nine shots, four of them on frame.

Diogo Palhoto led the Skyhawks with three shots, all three being on goal. Tommy Eskew, David Cho, Luca Ganio-Mego, Pablo Gamboa, and Max Paul Busnel each had one shot on goal. Simon Niksch tacked on three saves.

With Saturday's loss, the Skyhawks fall to 0-4-1 on the season and 0-1-0 in AAC play.
