Cheer finishes third at Southeast Regionals

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (Feb. 20, 2022) – The Point University competitive cheer team competed at the Southeast Regionals hosted by St. Thomas University on Saturday and finished in third place out of seven teams.

The Skyhawks earned an overall score of 87.8, finishing just 00.1 behind Mobile, who came in second with an overall score of 87.9. Xavier won the competition with a score of 96.3.

The Skyhawks are currently No. 12 in the nation and will find out on Feb. 27 if they receive a bid to the sixth annual NAIA Competitive Cheer and Dance National Championship. This year's competition will be held March 11-12 in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
