Win Streak Hits Four with Win at Point
West Point, GA - The Eagles are coming off a dominating weekend of baseball with three wins over St. Andrews, and they rode their momentum into old AAC opponent, Point University on Tuesday. The Eagles walked away with a nice weekday win, 7-2, over the Skyhawks as they can now start to prepare for conference rival Tennessee Wesleyan - which will be the weekend series at Ken White Field.
Reinhardt got outstanding pitching and timely hitting to get the win at Point with Ben Medley getting the start and going six innings. He was able to strike out 7 batters while only allowing one run and four hits. He was relieved by Cobey Allison who came in at the bottom of the seventh. Allison, who is becoming a multiuse pitcher for the Eagles, pitched 1.2 innings striking out two Skyhawks. He did allow a run and gave up four hits before being relieved by Brett Allen. Allen Finished out the game pitching to the final batter in the eighth inning and finishing out the ninth to help the Eagles win. Allen recorded 2 strikeouts and gave up zero hits or runs.

Offensively, the Eagles' bats have been very hot and they continued to get hits and score runs against Point. Matty Maurer led the way for the Eagles going 5 for 5 with 2 RBIs. Two of Maurer's hits were doubles. In addition to what he does at the plate, he also caught a great game for starting pitcher Medley.
Other standouts at the plate were Dylan Lewis and Nash Crowell. This power-hitting duo was a key to much of the success of the 2023 season and they are looking to keep it hot in 2024. Lewis has the hottest bat in the Eagles rotation so far this season as he leads in batting average and home runs. Lewis hit another home run against Point in the fourth inning after having a couple in the St. Andrews series. He also had a double in the fifth that scored center fielder Lance Dockery.
Crowell has had a slower-than-normal start, but his bat is coming around and he has two home runs so far this season. He is one that can easily add 4 to 5 homers in a weekend once he gets his bat going. Against Point, he went 2 for 4 with one RBI and one run scored with his two hits going as doubles.
Dockery also had a decent game at the plate going 2 for 5 with an RBI and a run scored.
The Eagles were able to score in the second, fourth, fifth, and eighth innings with the second and fifth being multi-run innings.
Reinhardt hopes to continue its progress of improving steadily in this first month of the season. Their pitching and hitting is lining up perfectly right now and hopes that this will continue as one of the top teams comes into Waleska this weekend. The Eagles versus the Bulldogs is always a great matchup of AAC baseball so come out and support the team as they keep things going.
